Conference Preparation
Instructions for Oral Presentations
Oral presentation slots will be strictly limited to 20 minutes. You should aim for a presentation lasting not longer than 15 minutes, leaving 5 minutes for questions and change of speaker.
If you are
presenting an oral paper, you must load your presentation onto the central
fileserver and check that it displays correctly well before your talk.
We recommend you do this well in advance of your presentation and
certainly no later than two hours beforehand.
Presentations need to be uploaded in the Sunrise Room on the first floor.
The room will be open during the following times:
- Sunday 6th September 1400-1800 hours
- Monday 7th September 0900-1700 hours
- Tuesday 8th September 0830-1700 hours
- Wednesday 9th September 0830-1700 hours
- Thursday 10th September 0830-1700 hours
The following software will be available to presenters:
- Powerpoint 2003 and 2007
- Adobe Reader v9.1.2
There will also be software to play the following multimedia filetypes:
- Windows Media Video (.wmv)
- Windows Media Audio (.wma)
- MPEG-1 Audio Layer (.mp3)
- Audio Video Interleave (.avi)
Support will be provided for Quicktime, Real Audio & VLS compatible codecs. If you plan to use non-industry standard codecs, please contact the audio-visual company through the conference organisers.
Instructions for Poster Presentations
- Each poster is presented on one side of a 2m wide and 1m high poster board. A standard A0-sized poster (1189mm x 841mm) will fit on the poster board in wide (landscape) format.
- Each poster session is 2 hours long.
- Presenters must put up their poster in the half hour before the start of the session.
- Presenters must remove their poster immediately at the end of the session so as to enable presenters for the next session to put up their poster in time.
- Materials to affix posters to poster boards will be provided in the poster sessions.
